Design of a Modular Plantar Orthosis System through the Application of TRIZ Methodology Tools

Innovations within the medical device sector are constantly and rapidly emerging due to increasing demand, especially for orthosis systems, which usually constitute built rigids with low comfort, mainly standardized production process. This article reports design process of a plantar system from application Theory Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) tools, known as generic parameters, matrix contradictions, inventive principles. The final is integrated by four modules or components (1 central 3 movables) customers can buy only required ones, reducing cost in unnecessary parts. was defined based on three engineering parameters that delimited work developing customizable capable performing simultaneous functions whose manufacture could be standardized. We identified existence technical contradiction between customization, standardization, solved principles segmentation, inversion, transition new dimension, porous materials. A modular accomplished, molds each component machining center injected using granulated ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer. positions movable configured through bolt-hole assembly mechanism component, flat perforated base. novelty here presented elated supports orthosis, interchangeable adjustable pathological morphological needs patient.
